110 million Nigerians Have Enrolled For NIN-NIMC.

110 million Nigerians have been successfully enrolled in the National Identity Numbers (NIN) database, according to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

During the 6th National Identity Day celebration on Monday, September 16, in Abuja, the Director General of the Commission, Mrs. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, announced this milestone.

Coker-Odusote stated that the commission is dedicated to boosting enrolment and is making efforts to guarantee that a greater number of Nigerians are apprehended as quickly as feasible.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, spoke at the occasion and underlined the significance of data protection given the rising number of Nigerians being apprehended by NIMC. He emphasised how important it is now to manage the country’s identity data effectively.

In an effort to promote enrolment in the national identification database, the Federal Government created National identification Day in 2020 while President Muhammadu Buhari was in office. The official day to promote and increase awareness of the value of digital identification is September 16.
