For two years, a father named Aliu Ibrahim, 41, is alleged to have had confidential knowledge about his daughter Rodiat Ibrahim, 12.
After being reported to the Ogun State Police Command’s Oja-Odan Division by his estranged wife, Egbebi Temitope, who lives in the Papa Olosun neighbourhood of Oja-Odan, Ibrahim was taken into custody on October 10.
Temitope claimed that every time their daughter spent a holiday with Aliu Ibrahim, he defiled her.
She claimed that after bringing Rodiat to the State Hospital in Ilaro for an untreated vaginal discharge that had been reoccurring in the child for a considerable amount of time, she learnt about the assault.
It was found at the hospital that her father had reportedly been abusing her.
On October 10, 2024, at around 2:10 p.m., Oja-Odan Divisional Police Headquarters agents took immediate action in response to the information and detained Ibrahim.
The State Criminal and Investigation Department, located in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, will receive the suspect following a preliminary investigation conducted by the human rights division of Oja Odan division.
Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, verified Ibrahim’s apprehension.
