Suspected motorcycle thief crushed to death while escaping from angry mob in Abuja.

At Gawu in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a suspected motorbike thief was crushed to death while attempting to flee from a mob.

According to a witness, Danlami Ibrahim, who talked to the Daily Trust, the suspect allegedly stole a motorbike from a farm in the nearby village of Mawogi on Wednesday at 4:12 p.m.

He claimed that when the motorcycle’s owner sounded an alarm, some young people from the farm came running after him as he attempted to escape on the vehicle.

He claimed that the suspect was struck by a car after carelessly crossing the motorway as he approached Gawu village.

He claims that although the mob captured the guy alive, a group of vigilantes transported him to a hospital in Gawu Babangida, where he passed away a short while later.

According to a police official at the Gawu division who asked not to be named, the deceased’s relatives arrived for his body, confirming the occurrence to the media.

He claimed that although the stolen motorbike had been found, it was severely damaged.

He mentioned the car that hit him as well as the motorbike were in police custody at the division.
