After the passenger on a New Jersey Transit bus appeared to have spat on the driver, the driver was shown on camera beating the man and putting him in a chokehold.
On Friday afternoon, August 16, in Newark, a packed bus broke out in a violent confrontation that resulted in the arrest of the driver, Toron Walker, according to RLS Media.
“You made a mistake. What is the issue with you, the f**k? Would you like to spit? Walker was still punching the commuter, and he could be heard shouting.
At one point, terrified passengers yelled for Walker to stop as he was seen putting the man in a chokehold on camera.
When police finally boarded the bus, which had stopped at Court Street and Broad Street, they reportedly discovered Walker continuing to beat the passenger, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
After being handcuffed, he was charged with aggravated assault.
