Dr. Dennis Adison Ouma, a renowned food scientist in Kenya, responded after learning that a Nigerian woman had celebrated moving overseas.
On Thursday, September 12, Lilian Nkemdirim, a lady, took to X to announce her move, a desire she has been nurturing since 2022.
“Nigeria will prosper eventually! Goodbye,” she penned.
Dr. Ouma commented on the post, stating that something seriously wrong in Nigeria for its people to be so excited about leaving their nation must exist.
“There is Something terribly wrong with Nigeria. Why are Nigerians this EUPHORIC when leaving their country to USA, UK, Western world. I have never seen Kenyans celebrating leaving Kenya, in fact they wish they don’t leave Kenya. But Nigerians celebrate leaving their country every hour on social media. There is indeed a brain drain crisis in Nigeria,” he wrote.
