The Owode Egba Divisional Police Officer has started looking into a murder that happened on September 12 at around 4 p.m.
According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola, the investigation was started when Ifakunle Olanrewaju, a 28-year-old traditional attendant from Asa Elegbada Village near Owode Egba who specialises in administering herbal concoctions, went to the police to report the death of one of his clients, Monday Ederemo, 26.
According to the suspect, on September 11, the late Ederemo, a regular customer of Olanrewaju’s herbal concoction, came to see him from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. The deceased man complained of pain in his right leg, so Olanrewaju, in keeping with protocol, gave him some herbal mixes.
Regretfully, the suspect informed the police, Ederemo was discovered dead in his home on September 12, at around seven o’clock.
Although the deceased’s family is not yet filing any complaints, the police spokeswoman stated that the command has started investigating the event and that the suspect is being questioned at the police station. The deceased’s remains have been moved to the mortuary at General Hospital, Owode Egba, for an autopsy, she said, adding that the crime scene was inspected, examined, and photographed.
She added that a preliminary inquiry is being conducted to find out whether there was a cause that was suspicious in addition to what was initially disclosed.
