After being detained by the authorities for a week, prankster Zfancy was freed.

After being detained for a week, authorities have freed prankster Zion Ubani, better known as his stage name Zfancy. He was freed on bond to the executives of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-Making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), according to a police statement made on Wednesday night, July 10.

Zfancy was allegedly arrested on Wednesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. in a residence in Wuye, Abuja, in response to fictitious movies purporting to show him engaging in horrible deeds, like as rape.

On Thursday, July 4, police released a statement announcing the prankster’s arrest in relation to one of his pranks. In the end, it was discovered that the fake videos were staged.

Zfancy was reportedly given a severe warning before leaving to avoid performing any practical jokes that may incite public disturbances.

According to the police statement:

“Earlier today, 10th of July, 2024, at the Force Headquarters, Mr. Zion Ubani, aka Zfancy, was released on bail to the Excos of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-Making and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN).

The delegation was led by Mr. Tokoni Peter Igoin, Special Assistant to the President on ICT Development and Digital Innovation.

Recall that Mr. Ubani was arrested by the NPF-National Cybercrime Centre over prank videos accusing him of heinous crimes, including rape. The videos were later found to be scripted.

He has been warned to avoid pranks that could cause public unrest. While encouraging positive creativity amongst the youthful populace, the NPF urges content creators to responsibly use social media and avoid spreading misinformation that may incite public disorder.”

In other developments, Nigerian student Itegbe Irene Awele elevates costume day to a whole new level by modelling the mugshot of contentious lifestyle blogger Bobrisky.

It should be mentioned that Bobrisky admitted guilt and was sentenced to six months in prison after the EFCC arrested and imprisoned him for naira mutilation months earlier.

Lately, Irene—who seemed to be a fan of Bobriksy—copied his EFCC photograph for her go-to outfit on costume day.

Irene was accused with “alleged BBL,” while Bobrisky was charged with “naira mutilation.”

The student shared the post on the X platform and gave an explanation for her decision to make some adjustments to her photo using EFEC rather than EFCC.
