At the liquor store, a courageous 8-year-old girl uses a baseball bat to beat a robber (video).

Surveillance footage demonstrates how a courageous eight-year-old girl used a baseball bat to repeatedly hit the thief in order to stop him from robbing her father’s liquor store in Minnesota.

The young child confronted the suspected would-be thief, who is now known to be 37-year-old Conchobhar Morrell, after he withdrew what looked to be a firearm from the Big Discount Liquors store in Maplewood on Saturday, August 10, at around 9:30 p.m.

“He put the gun on the table, he asked me to give him all the money and everything in the register; I told him yes—I’ll give you everything,” the girl’s dad, only identified as Leo, told CBS News.

The suspect, who was dressed in an Amazon costume, allegedly attempted to rush behind the counter where the girl was standing while the store clerk was rushing to get the cash.

Before the girl intervened to assist, surveillance footage showed the father swiftly striking Morrell and putting him on the ground.

The video appears to show her arming herself with the bat and punching the man repeatedly while her father attempted to pin Morrell down.

The horrified father claimed that until he watched the security tape again afterward, he had no idea his daughter had intervened.

“I’m so proud of her, she’s so strong,” the clerk said.

“That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect she’d do that. I expect a little girl crying, screaming.”

Moments after leaving the store, Morrell was apprehended close by, according to police. Because of the experience, he was accused of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery.

Police claim that the weapon he produced during the failed robbery attempt was actually a BB gun.

Morrell had been employed by a third-party service as a delivery associate, according to an Amazon representative.

Following his arrest, he will be “immediately offboarded,” the representative stated.

Morrell is being held till his initial appearance in court on Friday, August 16.
