“How I was taken and how I was returned” End bad governance protester shares photos before his arrest and after his release from DSS custody

After regaining his freedom, Khalid Aminu, one of the recently freed End Bad Governance demonstrators, has taken to X to speak.

Aminu was arrested together with Salihu Shuaibu and Usman Isa Adebayo.

On October 4, the three submitted a bail request to the High Court.

The activists were exonerated of all charges when the issue was brought up on Thursday, October 17.

The prosecutor from the Department of State Services (DSS) requested that the accusations against them be dropped. As a result, the judge rejected the case due to insufficient evidence.

“Today, the chains of 11 weeks of unjust detention by the @OfficialDSSNG have fallen,” Khalifa Aminu wrote on X following his release. Their charges were dropped in front of the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where the case against me was dismissed due to my support for justice at the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstration.

“Below is a picture of how I was taken and how I was returned,” he continued, sharing pictures of himself appearing gaunt following his confinement and pictures taken prior to his arrest. Make your own judgement.

“Though confined in body, my spirit remained intact—unyielding in the face of oppression.”

Below are screenshots of his tweets.
