In two distinct attacks, bandits in Magazu village, Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, killed two drivers and kidnapped numerous passengers.
On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the bandits assaulted four moving cars, killing a truck driver and kidnapping numerous passengers.
Around 6:30 p.m., they made their way back to the same location, attacked a commercial Volkswagen Gulf, and kidnapped the occupants.
According to eyewitnesses, the bandits halted the busy roadway during the initial attack, fired at four moving vehicles, causing their drivers to lose control and crash into the jungle.
According to several Magazu villagers and Tsafe, banditry attacks along the Funtua-Gusau Road have resumed, as reported by Daily Trust.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan confirmed only the attack on the truck driver.
“I only heard about the attack on the truck driver. For the other attacks, I don’t have any information for now,” he said.
