President Tinubu accepts Ajuri Ngelale’s request for indefinite leave of absence.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson, disclosed that she was taking an indefinite leave of absence for personal and health-related reasons. The Presidency has accepted this information.

This decision was communicated to the President via a memo written by Ngelale, who also holds the position of Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action.

The President confirmed receiving the document and expressed complete understanding and sorrow for Ngelale’s tough decision in an official statement that was made public on September 7, 2024. “Ngelale’s quick recovery and full restoration to health,” was the message the President sent along with his prayers and best wishes.

The statement also commended Ngelale for his unceasing efforts and commitment to serving the country, especially in his capacities as an advocate for national programs and climate action. The President thanked Ngelale for his achievements and wished him luck in all of his future pursuits.

The statement asked for consideration for Ngelale and his family’s privacy during this time.
