After being stabbing in a parking lot, Lamine Yamal’s father, a Spanish Euro 2024 star, was taken to the hospital.
It is believed that Mounir Nasraoui was attacked while in the Spanish town of Mataro. He was subsequently taken to the hospital.
La Vanguardia said that locals said Nasraoui got into a battle with some people after walking his dog, and that Nasraoui was stabbed several times as a result of the disagreement.
After the stabbing, he was left in critical condition and transported by ambulance to the neighbouring Can Ruti hospital in Badalona.
Since then, Spanish publications Relevo and Mundo Deportivo have stated that Nasraoui is “out of danger” even though he is still in the hospital.
According to El Mundo, three people have been taken into custody by Spanish police on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident happened at about 9:10 p.m. local time, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
Local Mataro police have started approaching witnesses of the stabbing in an effort to gather vital information about the incident.
