1. Burial: To be honest, I don’t understand why the living would have to take out loans or sell off their properties in order to gather enough cash for a sumptuous funeral for the deceased.
The families of some of the people, who died hungry and in misery rent tens of canopies, slaughter fat calves, invite brewers, and feed a community at their funerals.
I believe that all of these shows are only for the benefit of the living’s ego, not the dead’s tranquilly. We throw away so much when it is really not essential.
2. Weddings: I’ve had a lot of messages from folks asking for financial support for their weddings. I turn them down without hesitation and tell them to be married in weddings they can easily afford.
Weddings are among the least expensive events to attend since you won’t feel the need to impress strangers.
I’ve seen a man sell the sole land he owns in order to fund a lavish wedding. I’ve known people who had trouble repaying the loans they took out to host extravagant wedding celebrations.
A reasonable couple wouldn’t subject themselves to such needless stress in an attempt to please others who would ultimately leave unhappy.
Have a small wedding, then return home and relax. Just because you want to gather enough money to feed another group of strangers, doesn’t mean you should start adding strangers to your committee of friends.
3. Car: I know a number of people who, in an effort to feel accepted; have mortgaged their only possessions in order to obtain a loan in order to purchase expensive cars.
They feel like kings during the day, but at night they are unable to sleep due to their debt to others. Borrowing money to pay off debts and obligations, such as those in Nigeria. That is foolishness.
Live below your means rather than above it. Don’t waste your life trying to please those who will simply walk over you and go on when you are down.
2. The fact that I might never be able to completely use my mind’s potential, no matter how hard I strive, is my greatest source of aggravation in life.
However, I’m perplexed as to why and how the majority of people live their entire lives without ever fully realizing the potential of their minds.
Right now, the person reading this message has the power to colonize Kepler 22B and control atmospheric conditions, but they are too busy searching for Daily Bread and having trouble making ends meet to pay their bills and loans. How can such an investment of mental energy are reduced to nothing more than a simple food hunt—an activity at which animals in woods readily flourish.
One thing I try to accomplish every day is to push my mind to the limit and deplete all of its resources.
In order to accomplish this, I take on endeavors that are deemed impractical for a human, such as curing death, or that are now outside the purview of my abilities, such as employing TV series and social media mentoring to profoundly alter the minds of 80% of Africa’s youth. Can that really happen? That clarifies my uncertainty and dissatisfaction.
