According to Hillary Clinton, she is hopeful that Kamala Harris will eventually shatter the “highest, hardest glass ceiling” in American history by becoming the country’s first female president.
As the first female presidential nominee from a major party, Clinton claimed to have shattered her own glass ceiling and expressed her hope that Kamala would go even farther.
“When a barrier falls for one of us, it clears the way for all of us,” she said at the Democratic National Convention early Tuesday morning, echoing her convention speech from eight years before.
Despite the historic nature of her 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary was defeated by Donald Trump.
Clinton declared that it was time to hand off the torch in front of thousands of people in Chicago.
“Together, we’ve put a lot of cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling. On the other side of that glass ceiling is Kamala Harris raising her hand and taking the oath of office as our 47th President of the United States.”
