A storey building collapsed on Saturday morning, September 14, during heavy rainfall in Benin City, Edo State, trapping several students from the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Ekhator Street, Ekosodin, an area known for housing students.
While some of the individuals who were trapped were rescued, several remain fearfully trapped.
After being extricated from the debris, the wounded individuals received emergency medical attention at the hospital.
A plea for assistance from beneath the rubble was heard by a university rescue team, who are still looking for casualties.
