The Zamfara State Government has vowed to destroy towns that provide sanctuary to outlaws.
This was revealed by the state’s deputy governor, Malam Mani Mummuni, when he went to Tsafe Emirate to comfort the locals following the bandit-killed deaths of nine members of the Community Protection Guards (CPG), a local security organisation in Zamfara State.
Nine security officers were killed by bandits who attacked them along the Tsafe-Funtua road, according to LIB.
Mummuni specifically charged Maikwanugga village members of harbouring bandits by giving them food and shelter.
He claimed that before the bandits attacked and killed the CPG agents who had been sent to guard tourists, the town had let them stay the night.
“The village is just less than half a kilometre from the main road, but they decided to be used by bandits against our security operatives, who are working to secure the lives and properties of innocent people,” he said.
Mummuni stated that betrayers who oppose the State’s and security services’ attempts to reduce insecurity will not be tolerated by the government.
